Carla Jean Zayac, daughter of Carl Eugene Underwood and Mary Ellen Gwin, born October 8, 1952 in Covington, KY passed away surrounded by family May 7, 2025 in Poolville, TX.
Carla was preceded in death by her son, Michael Joseph Zayac IV, granddaughter Patience Rae Morgan, and brother Raymond Van Millbaugh
Carla is survived by her husband John Michael Zayac II, married October 12, 1972, as well as her children Carrie Lynn Morgan (Terry) of Poolville, TX; Dr. John Michael Zayac IV (Thomas) of Millbrook, NY; Daniel Eugene Zayac (Lauren) of Twain Harte, CA; Angela Noel Zayac of Florence, KY; Stephen Harrison Zayac (Erica) of San Antonio, TX; and David Christopher Zayac (Abbey) of Runaway Bay, TX, sisters Terry Lee Scherder, Cindy Ann Hargis (Steve), and brother Charles Edward Millbaugh Jr (Linda)
Our mother was a loving grandmother to Porscha, Pryce, Micheal, Marissa, Rudie, Ellis, Sadie, Angel and great Grandchildren, Atlas, Freya, Colby, Wyatt, and Mason
Carla was a long time resident of Greeley Hill, CA and obtained her Associate of Science in Nursing at Modesto Junior College in 1992 and had a long career in nursing at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, CA.
She was active in the German Shepherd and Irish Wolfhound dog communities, serving as both president and secretary of the Northern California Irish Wolfhound Club and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
A celebration of life will be held 12:00pm on May 31, 2025 at 210 County Road 3855, Poolville, TX 76487. In lieu of flower arrangements the family is asking for perennials or plants that can be added to the memorial garden they are dedicating to Carla.
