Stephen Zayac

Stephen Zayac, 73, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Son of the late Lois and the late Harry; Brother of Joanne Rand (the late Mark), Michael (Josie) and the late Jeanne Mapes (the late Charles); Uncle of Mallory, Harry, Elliot, Andrew (Alex), Bradley, Carlena (Farid); Great-uncle of Soraya; Cousin to many. Stephen was active and loved fishing Lake Erie, even serving a stint as president of the Cleveland fishing club. He loved bowling in several leagues and golfing local courses, running the Divinity Lutheran golf league for several years while collecting a staggering amount of both golf and bowling towels. He enjoyed watching the hometown sports teams of Cleveland when he wasn't participating in sports himself, being a Cleveland "Indians", Browns and Cavaliers fan until the end. Stephen will also be remembered for his love of trains, often taking trips to ride, watch and photograph them, and even serving a term as vice president of the Great Lakes chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. He also served the community as a trustee of the local Lutheran Home. He will be missed by family and friends.
