Carlene Scott, 80, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2025 in the comfort of her home.
She was born on January 19, 1945 in Raccoon, Kentucky to the late Wheeler and Esther Ramey. She attended both Liberty Freewill Baptist Church and True Vine Old Regular Baptist Church. Carlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was loved and cherished by all.
In addition to her parents, Carlene was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Edward Scott; her brother, Leon Ramey; sister, Kathleen Coleman; brothers-in-law, James Coleman, Thomas Coleman, Paul Scott, Charles Scott, Ben Scott, Emmit Scott; sisters-in-law, Susie Ramey, Norma “Shelby” Scott, Joyce Scott, Mona Scott; and daughter-in-law, Angie Scott.
She will be deeply missed by her sister, Faith Coleman; children, Mike (Tracy) Scott, Danny Scott, Denna (Jon) Steiner; grandchildren, Star (Kenneth), Teresa (Loren), Eddie (Anne), Tabitha, Isabella (Dylan), Caleb, Grace (Darryn); and great-grandchildren, Brooke (Jeremiah), Hannah, Isaiah, Cadence, Scarlett, Inaria, Austin, Katelyn, Shyann; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Summa Home Hospice for all of the kindness and compassion shown to Carlene and her family.
Family and friends may call on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Cecil Farmer and Brother Dennis Elkins officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
