Weslaco- Carlos "Charlie" Cantu III was a devoted husband, a caring father, a loving grandfather, son, and brother, and an avid golfer. To his family and friends, he was a source of joy, laughter, and unwavering love. Charlie lived his life with unmatched energy, pouring his heart into everything he did. He was a man of great passion and determination-his work ethic, competitive spirit, and zest for life were second to none. Whether he was out on the golf course expecting every shot to be perfect, at the grill perfecting a family meal, or listening to the country and Christian music that lifted his soul, Charlie lived in a way that reminded others to embrace life fully and faithfully. He cherished time with his family above all else, finding his greatest happiness in moments shared with those he loved most. His warmth, humor, and boundless spirit made every family gathering brighter and every memory richer. Charlie leaves a legacy of love, resilience, and devotion. He touched the lives of all who knew him, and his presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends. Charlie III is preceded in death by his father, Carlos "Charlie" Cantu Jr. Charlie III is survived by his dedicated wife of 29 years, Noemi Reyes Cantu, his beautiful children, Carlos "Charlie" Cantu IV, Clarissa Cantu, Christian (Jackie) Cantu, and Cassandra (Jesse) Cantu. Charlie III was a proud grandpa of four sweet grandchildren: Jesse Jr, Isabella, Jahziel, and Matthew. He is also survived by his loving mother, Estella Cantu, and his caring and supportive siblings Orlando Cantu, Cris Cantu Valdez, and Cynthia (David) Anthony. He was a proud uncle of numerous nieces and nephews, whom he encouraged to change the world. Charlie's legacy is one of love, joy, and boundless energy. As we remember him, may we honor his life by living fully, loving deeply, and cherishing each moment, just as he did.

Charlie is gone.
It was not supposed to be this way. Our family has buried too many young. Too many before their time.

I remember him with a steady laugh and calm eyes. He was good at golf. Better than I could ever be. I stood back and watched, amazed at his skill. He carried happiness in him, and those near him felt it.

We were not close, not like he was with my brothers and sisters. Still, I knew him as a good man. A man who did no harm. A man who lived with quiet joy.

The news of his death struck hard. Frank is gone. Aaron is gone. Now Charlie too. The losses pile up, and the hurt grows. People say time heals. It does not. The pain dulls, but it never leaves. Each day brings a reminder. Each day goes on.

We will go on too. But we will go on missing him.

Find Peace Charlie.
