Carlos Ruben Carbonell, age 56, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025. Born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Carlos was the beloved son of the late Adela Carbonell and grandson of the late Armando Carbonell. He was raised in the Bronx, New York, and later made Bridgeport his home in his mid-twenties, where he touched countless lives with his warmth, humor, and boundless generosity.
Carlos was a one-of-a-kind soul-spirited, funny, and endlessly kind. He lived life unapologetically on his own terms, guided not by convention but by the rhythm of his own heart. He had an extraordinary gift for lifting others up and never hesitated to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Though he had no children of his own, Carlos was a devoted and loving uncle who played a deeply meaningful role in the lives of his nieces and nephews.
He was a man who took pride in the simple things-especially his love for cleaning-and considered his greatest achievement to be that he had graduated life. That sentiment perfectly captures Carlos' philosophy: that living fully, loving deeply, and helping others were the true marks of success.
Carlos was predeceased by his cherished mother Adela, his grandfather Armando, and his beloved sister Carolin Soto. He leaves behind his devoted brothers, Angel Muniz and Carlos Marrero, along with their children and grandchildren, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Carlos had a heart of gold, and his loss will be felt deeply by all who knew him. His life, though not without its struggles, was rich in love, laughter, and the kind of quiet impact that only a truly good soul can leave behind.
A celebration of Carlos' life will be held at Community Funeral Chapel 798 Park Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06604, on Friday June 27, 2025 from 6:00PM - 8:00pm. In his honor, the family encourages acts of kindness and generosity-just as he lived every day of his life.
Rest easy, Carlos. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
