Carlos Dodson Jr. was born on December 8, 1929 to Carlos Dodson Sr. and Ethel Lane Dodson. He was the first of four sons born to his parents. He was 95 years old when he passed from his human body to his spiritual one.

Carlos graduated from Danville, Indiana, High School May, 1947.

Immediately after Carlos graduated from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in May, 1947, in which he served in Korea. He proudly served for 4 years, 10 months and 4 days. He was honorably discharged on December 7, 1951.

In January 1949 he married his high school sweetheart, Ann Jones. In 1953 Ann gave birth to twins, Carlos III and Carol Diane. Three years later they had another son, David Dodson.

Carlos would then return to school and earn his Associates degree in Electronics and Communication. With his degree he was then employed by Brown & Root in the Electronics & Communications Department in which he was employed for 30 years. He retired from Brown & Root on September 30, 1987 at the age of 57.

After retiring Carlos and Ann started traveling immensely and enjoyed cruising as their number- one social activity. They excitedly sailed on over 100 cruises in their lifetime. They sailed around the world and saw places no-one could even dream of seeing in their lifetime.

They also found another hobby in which they never thought they would be able to love…..square dancing. They square danced for several years before they were required to give it up because of Ann's health.

Carlos was preceded in death by his wife of 72-1/2 years, Ann, and his twin son, Carlos III.

He leaves behind his twin daughter, Carol Dodson Jones and her husband Robert, and son David Dodson and his wife Linda.

Together they had 7 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren and 2 great -great grandchildren. They also leave behind an immense amount of nieces and nephews in which he always adored.

Carlos will be laid to rest Friday, August 22, 2025. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. and services at 10:00 a.m. Cremation and a military burial will take place at a later date.
