Carlos Garcia, age 88, of Houston, Texas, passed away on March 25, 2024. He was born in Glen Flora, Texas on November 4, 1935 to parents Feliciano and Lidia.
He met his wife, Cathy in Bryan, Texas. They were together for over 42 years. Carlos had a career at Southwest Oilfield Products for over 38 years. He was a press operator and then went on to becoming a supervisor. He was a member of Knights of Columbus in Houston and joined St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in 1965. He had an interest in fishing, walking, signing, dancing, horseback riding, watching funny videos, local events, visiting with family and friends, and Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine "Cathy" Serna Garcia; parents, Feliciano and Lidia Garcia; grandparents, Mariana and Bonefacio Torres, and Sostenis and Juanita Garcia; siblings, Eugenio "Gen", Selestion "Tino", Julianna "Anita", and Alphonsa "Poncha"; great grandchild, Layla Ramos.
He is survived by his children, Charlie Garcia, Lydia Carlin, Phylis (Brad) Ingram; grandchildren, Jarrod Garcia, Joanne (Carlos) Ball, Stephanie (Valentin) Casiano, Amanda Garcia, Christina Garcia, Charles Garcia III, Jacob (Jessica) Carlin, Alana Mock, and Nathan Carlin; great grandchildren, Valentin Casiano Jr, Christian Casiano, Emma Casiano, Dakota Medrano, Cheyanne Ball, Nathan Ball, Olivia Carlin, Julian Maldonado, Jasmine Carlin, Angel Morales, Aliyah Carlin, and Daniel Mock; great great grandchildren, Alena Valdez, Amelia Valdez, and Alex Valdez; brothers, Santos Garcia, and Jesse (Joanne) Garcia.
A special thanks to family, friends, and coworkers.
A visitation for Carlos will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A rosary will occur Friday, March 29, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral services will occur Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A burial committal will occur Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
Serving as pallbearers are Charles Garcia III, Jesse Garcia Jr., Ray De La Rosa, Robert Lloyd, Jacob Carlin, Valentin Casiano, Michael Garcia and Jonathan Grantham.
