It is with great sadness that the family of Carlos Duane Holland announces his passing on Tuesday December 31, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born on January 16, 1950.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Wilton and Lou Holland, brother; David Holland and his son Shane Holland, and step-grandson; Taylor.
He will be loved and missed by his wife Joyce Holland, his children; CD Holland, Crystal Holland Megginson, Holly (Thomas) Shockley, stepchildren; Lisa (Larry) McIntyre and Nicole (Whitney) Hensley, seven grandchildren; Colby, Ivorie, Cody, Peyton, Corey, Jonah, Karley, two sisters; Brenda Chapman, Beverly Brewer, and many relatives, friends, and coworkers.
Duane graduated from MGM in 1968. He was an excellent athlete in sports during his high school years. He continued his love of sports being a part of the coaching staff at Faith Academy in the early 70's. Duane had a passion for hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Over the years he continued being active by daily speed walking, recreational softball and his competitive passion of playing golf with his buddies until the disease finally took the last of his coordination.
A visitation will be held Saturday January 4, 2025, at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. followed by a chapel service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
