Glenn Richard Holland, 84, passed away on October 24, 2025, at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. A native of Ridgeway, VA, Richard was th eson of the late Reuben Reid Holland and Fannie Baker Holland and was married for almost 52 years to the love of his life; Patricia "Pat" Holland, who survives.
Richard devoted his career to serving as a counter salesman for ACR Supply, where he found a second family among his coworkers and his customers, treating them with unwavering kindness and respect. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his devotion to his family and community.
Richard was a man of many interests—his heart raced for Nascar, his loyalty lay with NC State, and he found joy in woodworking, crafting beautiful pieces that reflected his meticulous nature. He also cherished the times spent playing cards with friends. His generous spirit led him to volunteer his time preparing meals at his church's summer camp, passing on his love for community to the next generation.
Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Holland, children; Mark Holland and wife Mary, as well as Carey Holland Owens and husband Kenny, grandchildren; Travis Holland and wife Jessica, Brandon Holland, and Cody Holland, as well as a great-grandson Avery Holland. He is preceded in death by his parents and an incredible lineage of 12 siblings: John, Clarence, Bill, Frank, Ruby, Emma, Dink, Leon, Charlie, Otis, Barbara, and Margaret, as well as countless nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Andrews Memorial Baptist Church with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
