Carlos Lauriano-Plaza, lovingly known as Lito, of Mullica Hill, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2025. He was 29 years old. He was born on October 6, 1995, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, and moved with his family to New Jersey in 2000.
Lito was an optimistic person with a big heart, always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a unique ability to turn even the toughest situations into something positive-or at least tolerable. One of his favorite mottos was, "Telling the truth is the funniest thing in the world."
He graduated from Highland Regional High School in June 2014. Lito enjoyed swimming and going to the gym, and he had a true passion for singing and acting. He was an aspiring actor and starred in films such as Corazón Negro, Before the Break Up, and Second Chance City.
Lito is survived by his loving partner, Joey Lancellotti, and stepson, Antonio Lancellotti; his loving mother, Betzaida Plaza-Saintz (Andrew); his father, Carlos Lauriano (Belkis); his twin sister, Elisaida I. Mayo (Brandon and niece/goddaughter Amina Carlisy Mayo); his brother, Christopher R. Figueroa (Nicole); his niece Naomi Figueroa; nephews Christopher R. Figueroa Jr., Jayden Jeffrey, and Logan C. Figueroa (Mother, Amber Hallums); his great-grandmother, Maximina Perez; grandmother, Aida Guzman (Mama); maternal grandfather, Benjamin Plaza; paternal grandmother, Elisa Montanez; and stepsiblings Markita and Adam Lauriano. He is pre-deceased by stepsister Zakia Lauriano.
Family and friends are invited to attend Lito's Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 28, 2025. The viewing will occur from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with services to follow, at Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Turnersville, NJ 08012.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carlos' memory may be made directly to the family.
Lito will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He will forever be in our hearts!

This doesn't even feel real at all. Even for the short time I've worked with him, his energy lit up a room every time. He will surely be missed, my condolences to his friends and family.
