Carlotta Marie Watson, age 78, passed away July 14, 2025 at her home in Sikeston, MO.
She was born April 17, 1947 in Little Rock, AR, daughter of the late Jim Thorpe and Katie Mae Barger-Thorpe.
Carlotta worked for Brown Shoe Company before retiring. She was a loving mother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting and embroidering. After her retirement, she dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family.
On March 31, 1966 at East Prairie, MO she was married to Joe Watson, he survives of the home in Sikeston, MO.
She is also survived by two sons, David (Tina) Watson of Ocala, FL and Doug (Heather) Watson of Sikeston, MO; one daughter, Cheryl (Johnny) Slayden of East Prairie, MO; two brothers, Charles Hawkins of Sikeston, MO and Mike (Cathy) Hawkins of Cape Girardeau, MO; one sister, Claudetta Keen of New Madrid, MO; seven grandchildren, David Alexander Watson, Kelsea Marie Green, and Alyssa Montana Cook, Johnathan Ross Slayden, Riley Dalton Watson, Bailey Mae Watson, and Kennedy Morgan Watson; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Carlotta was preceded in death by two sisters, Annette Nichols and Cynthia Thorton.
There will be a private graveside service held at East Prairie Memorial Park.
Shelby Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
