Carlyene Adams

Helen Carlyene Owens Adams, 79, of Stanford, KY passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025. Born on January 5, 1946 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Carl and Leona Owens. She is the widow to the late Frank Adams.
For over 20 years, Carlyene was the proud owner and operator of the Sunset Motor Lodge, pouring her heart and soul into its operation and turning it into a home away from home for many. She had a unique talent for making spaces beautiful, and she always had her lodge decorated for the holidays. Carlyene also had a love for planting and flower gardening, as well as having a love of betting on the horses and going to Churchill Downs.
Survivors include three children, Jeffrey Earl Cummins, Cynthia Adele Allen Cummins (Randall Wayne Allen "What's his name"), Dianna Gail Cummins (Robert Baker) and Isabel Cummins; six grandchildren, Jesse Maseiga Hayes, Karla Antonio, Oscar Cummins, Jeffrey Carl Cummins, David N. Allen II and Erin -Taylor Allen; two great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Ortiz Gaceta and Blayke Ortiz Gaceta.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Adams; parents, Carl and Leona Owens; two sisters, Alyene Plummer and Alma "Tootsie" Lovell; and one granddaughter, Ashley Dianna Gaceta.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Preachersville Cemetery in Crab Orchard, KY at 4:00 p.m. Burial will follow immediately after the service.
There will be a reception for family and friends at the Sunset Motor Lodge from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Active Pallbearers are Bill Anderson, Oscar Cummins, Robert Baker, Greg Vautrinot, David Allen Erin-Taylor Allen and Jeff Cummins.
