Carlyn Albert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Marshall Funeral Home and Cremations on Mar. 7, 2026.
Carlyn Maureen Albert was born on September 16, 1975 to Cynthia Cook Albert, a life-long devoted member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. Carlyn was born the third of five daughters to a God-fearing Mother who made sure all her girls were brought up in the church. Carlyn accepted Jesus Christ at an early age, regularly attending Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and participating in Baptist Training Union activities.

Carlyn Albert attended Gulfport Public City Schools, participating in various school clubs and activities including: the UJOMA Club, Girls' basketball, and the school band. Well-known throughout her community, Carlyn was truly a friend to the masses. Her talent for connecting with people of all ages and backgrounds made her a natural-born hostess in the hospitality community here on the Gulf Coast, where she excelled until her health began to decline.

So, it was early in the morning on February 26, 2026, God sent His angel to bring His child home and end her earthly suffering. For this we celebrate our sister today and reflect on the many joyous occasions and shared memories of a life fully lived.

Carlyn was proceeded in death by her parents, Cynthia C. Albert and Claude Griffin, Sr.; daughter, Harmoni Cynthia Ann Marie Lewis. She leaves to cherish and honor her memory, her devoted son, Zion Almad Albert; sisters: Joycelyn Saucier, Kristina Albert, Angela Staton, and Marcia Kendle (Charles); brother: Claude Griffin, Jr. ; foster children: Darnesha Breaston and JaMichael Davis; step-father, Willie Albert; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
