Carma Elizabeth Baldwin, a cherished member of the Indianapolis community, passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on May 3, 1943, in Portsmouth, Ohio, Carma dedicated her life to her family and her passion as a beautician. She worked diligently at Vinnies Beauty Shop for an impressive 50 years before retiring in 1998, leaving a lasting impact on all those who entered her salon.
Carma’s journey in life was marked by her love and commitment to her family. She married Austin K. Baldwin Jr. on December 2, 1975, in Indianapolis, Indiana, where the couple shared their lives until his passing on March 14, 2018. Together, they created a warm and loving home filled with laughter and support.
Carma was not only known for her beauty skills but also for her culinary talents and creative spirit. She enjoyed wedding catering, cooking, and crafting, sharing her joyful creations with family and friends, which reflected her nurturing nature.
She is survived by her beloved children, Nicole (Mark) Coffman, Julee (Jerry) Higgins, and Hollee (Jeffery) Hinkebein; her treasured grandchildren, Charles, Taylor, Lauren, Aaron, Megan, Matthew, Olivia, Timothy, Zaid, and Brandon; and her adored great-grandchildren, Khloe, Raeleigh, Ashton, Ellijah, Zac'rya, McKinnleigh, and Waylon. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will fondly remember her spirit and love.
Carma was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie and Earl Stapleton, her husband Austin Keith Baldwin Jr., her son Jay, her daughter Rhonda, and 11 brothers and 4 sisters, whose memories will forever be held dear in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Visitation for Carma Elizabeth Baldwin will take place on February 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227. She will be laid to rest at Concordia Cemetery.
Carma will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. May she rest in peace.
