Carmaline Caliguire Obituary

Caliguire, Carmaline J.
CLIFTON PARK -
Carmaline J. Caliguire, 75, of Moe Rd., died suddenly Thursday, January 30, 2025, while vacationing in Florida. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Mario U. and Mildred Chouffi Gallo. She grew up in Lansingburgh and was a 1967 graduate of Lansingburgh High School.
Carm had been employed by the Prudential Insurance Co., for over 30 years, and retired in 2003 as Senior Administrative Assistant. She then went on to be an Administrative Assistant for the Paramedic Program at Hudson Valley Community College for 15 years. Most recently, she volunteered with the Mr. Mo Project.
A very generous person, Carm had the unique ability to find and send the perfect greeting card, never forgetting a special occasion. To say Carm was a dog lover is an understatement, she was an extremely loving dog-mom and grandma, affectionately known as "Nana." She enjoyed shopping and was an avid crafter, gifting many of her creations to family and friends. She was a wonderful creative cook and was well known for many of her dishes and a voracious reader. Carm also donated to many charities.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 54 years, Pasquale "Pat" Caliguire; her loving children, Anthony M. Caliguire (Nataliia) of Scotia, and Mariesa C. Hughes (Chris) of Clifton Park. She is the twin sister of Thomasine M. DeShaw (Dave Robertson) of Troy; and sister of Rose M. Perrotto of Delmar, the late Jean R. Blair, Joseph A. Gallo, Ann M. Pettit and Marie C. Douglas. She is the sister-in-law of Jeanette Gallo of Saratoga, the late Edgar Blair and Francis Pettit. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive, as well as her canine companion, Cedric.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 11, at 10:30 a.m., from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford, and at 11 a.m., at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Entombment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday, February 10, from 4-7 p.m.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Mr. Mo Project, 641 Grooms Rd. #235, Clifton Park, N.Y. 12065.

Carm, every time I think of you having left this world; I end up crying. Then I remember our times at Pru, our chats, our get-togethers and I find I'm smiling or laughing. You really were the "Real Thing". Honest as the day is long and not shy about giving your opinion. (reminded me of my Mom- lol) But, and HONEST opinion. I always felt connected to your heart through our love of our dogs. And even these many 23 years later, after I retired from Pru, you and I still kept in touch regarding the pups. My heart goes out to your family; y'all were so very close. And, I still say to this day, that yours and Tomasina's prayers got me through cancer and treatment. Being on your joint list of prayers was a great source of comfort. I can still hear your voice in my head. You were a "leader" for sure and Steve was so fortunate to have you on the ATTM's desk. Bless you and Rest in Peace, hon. (attaching a photo of our OCS group, 2002. We were a GREAT team of gals!

I am deeply saddened to hear about Carm's passing! I knew her thru the Pru family. She was loved by everyone she touched. She would always give me a sticker when I did a good job! She always had a smile and was never ever in a bad mood. She will truly be missed, but never forgotten!!

Pat,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your lovely wife. My brother, Bob, and I reminisced about our childhood days and you were part of many conversations. You and Bob were close and had spent some wonderful times together. Your entire family became like family. Bob passed away in December but still held those memories close his heart. May you and yours find peace in your warm memories and light in God's promise.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of being a part of your family when I was little. Me and Dad (Matt Johnson) spent many Sundays at your home. Carm always welcomed me with a hug and would let me play with her jewelry. I always remember how wonderful she was to me and dad. She will forever be in my heart.
