Carmella Vasinelli

Carmella (Albanese) Vasinelli, 85, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, Carmella was a devoted communicant of Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. She was also a former member of the Jewish Community Center and the YMCA.
Carmella was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family and friends above all else. She especially enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with those she loved.
She was predeceased by her parents, Vincenzo and Mary Albanese; her sisters, Angie Carlucci and Philomena Rosati; and her brothers, Carmen, Frank, and Anthony Albanese.
Carmella is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Peter Vasinelli; her daughter, Maria (Sam) Greco; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Brefka, Andrea (Jamie) Landry, and Joseph Greco; and her great-granddaughter, Allison. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 16, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash Street, Syracuse. Carmella will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
