Carmelo "Carmine" Scalia - of Bayonne passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday June 9th 2025, he was 61 years young. Born in Agrigento, Sicily; Carmelo (with his wife Stella Ann) was the proud owner/operator of Carmine's Deli in Jersey City before his passing. He was the devoted husband to his wife and partner Stella Ann (nee: Passaro) Scalia and the cherished father to Angela Drago and her husband John and to Anthony Scalia and his wife Victoria. Carmelo was pre-deceased by his brother Antonio Scalia and surviving him are his brother Pietro Scalia and wife Luna and his sister, Giovanna Borsellino and her husband Giuseppe, as well as a multitude of other loving family members, dear friends and loyal customers. There will be NO visitation or services held for Carmelo at the funeral home. However, the Family invites everyone to celebrate a Funeral Mass in Carmelo's memory at Holy Rosary Church, 344 6th Street in Jersey City at 12PM noon on Friday June 13th. He will then be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ. In lieu of any flowers the family requests that donations be made in Carmelo's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which can be done directly by clicking the "Memorial Donation" tab below this obituary.
