Cheryl A. Scalia (nee Ritzic), 59, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on October 2, 2025. She was born April 23, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Revere High School in 1984. Cheryl went on to get her cosmetology license and worked as a hair stylist for many years. She enjoyed spending time in nature, especially in her garden. She loved her four cats, Muffy, Buffy, Munzo, and Magic.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, John W. Ritzic; and her grandparents, John and Rhoda Ritzic and Harry and Ruth Blick.
Left to cherish Cheryl’s memory is her husband of 27 years, Vincent Scalia; daughters, Shayna (Donovan Speck) and Sara Scalia; mother, Kathleen Ritzic; brothers, John E. (Kim) Ritzic and Matthew Ritzic; sister, Nancy White; and nieces, Rachel, Chloe, and Leah.
Per Cheryl’s wishes, cremation has taken place. She will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
