Carmen Jones Obituary
Marina was a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Centreville, IL. Marina loved to paint and sew. When the grandchildren were young she would make all their dresses.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan F. Jones, Jr.; a daughter, Gail Jones; a son, Michael Jones; a son-in-law, Michael Ferrel; a brother, Hector Athie; a sister-in-law, Jane Athie; and a granddaughter, Christine Jones.
Surviving are her children, Robert Jones of Dupo, IL, Mary "Kathy" Ferrel of California, Matthew Jones of St. Louis, MO, and Brian (Charlette) Jones of East Carondelet, IL; two brothers, Charles Athie of Chicago, IL and Anthony (Ruth) Athie of St. Charles, MO; and a sister, Alicia Seeley of Ironton, MO; six grandchildren, Michelle Poole, Jason Jones, Jeremy Laramore, Heather Jones,and Ashley Jones; 12 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Friends may visit from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Steve Thoma officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
