Carmen Stewart Obituary

Carmen M. Stewart, 84, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2022 in her son's home after a decade long battle with cancer. Carmen was born September 12, 1937 in New York, New York and graduated from Barry College with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, challenging herself with puzzles, and shopping for all things used or new.
It was said in her high school yearbook, "Her thinking of others makes you think of her." This remained true her entire life. Carmen worked as a registered nurse well into her 70s and touched the lives of everyone she met. She never passed up an opportunity to help someone and never waited around for a thank you.
Carmen met life head on with enthusiasm and made the best out of any situation. Whenever she greeted you, her excitement and smile made you feel like family. She made friends the world over in her travels, raised a loving family, and saved many lives along the way. She will be sorely missed, and never forgotten by anyone that knew her.
Visitation for friends and family will be held May 19, 2022, 6:00pm-8:00pm at Van Orsdel in Coral Gables, FL.
Funeral services will take place May 20, 2022, 1:15pm at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL
