Carmen Valentin

Carmen Lydia Valentin was a kind-hearted and gentle woman whose life was devoted to her family….. a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20th. She will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

Carmen was the loving mother of four children: Nelson, Sonia, Ivelisse (Gordon) and Luis (Jacky). Her greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished her role as grandmother to Xiomara, Josué, Melanie, Stephanie (LeVoiy), Monica, Isabella, Gianni, and Giovanni, and as great-grandmother to Abigail, Melanie, Oliver, and Karlanie. Each of them held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her beloved sisters, Maria and Esther and nieces and nephews who shared a lifetime of love, memories and laughter. She is also survived by her bff Dominga with whom she shared an over 30 year friendship as well as her home health aide of two years, Jocabeth who called her 'Abuelita'. Jocabeth and Abuelita both loved and laughed together. Jocabeth has been a part of our family.

Carmen gave the very best hugs-warm, comforting, and full of love. She was an incredible cook who filled her home with the aromas of delicious meals and the rich scent of the best coffee, always ready to share a cup and heartfelt conversation. Her advice was steady and wise, offered with compassion and strength. She was an incredibly funny, classy, strong woman who faced life with courage and grace, always putting her family first.

She enjoyed watching television, especially QVC, the Home Shopping Network and other shows that brought her comfort and joy.

No matter how busy life got, she always remembered to send a birthday card to everyone making sure that they knew how special they were to her.

Carmen loved caring for those around her. Whether through a home-cooked meal, a listening ear, or a reassuring embrace, she showed her love in countless meaningful ways. Her legacy of strength, warmth, and devotion will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were touched by her kindness.

She will be greatly missed, forever.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 11:00am until 12:00pm on followed by a service from 12:00PM – 1:00pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave Vineland, NJ.
