Carmen Vega Obituary
March 17, 1942 – November 30, 2025
Carmen Maria Vega Valentin, known lovingly as "Tata," passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025 at the age of 83, surrounded by her family. Born in Puerto Rico on March 17, 1942 to Maria Arroyo and Baltazar Valentin.
Tata was the wife of Juan "Nito" Vega and mother to her six children: Jaime, Nicky, Elizabeth, Victoria, Marilyn, and Silvia. Her heart only grew fuller with each generation, as she adored every moment spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Tata found joy in life's sweetest comforts like her café, avena, and desserts always made her smile. She loved her pets deeply and tended to outlive them all, from her sweet dog Winston to her parakeets, her parrot Booger, and the many betta fish who were blessed to spend their days with her. She enjoyed having her nails painted, wearing her favorite lipstick, and embracing her personal style with confidence.
Tata said her nightly prayers faithfully, yet she also embraced life's pleasures such as listening to music, smoking cigarettes, and spending time at the casino.
Though she is gone, the memory of her strength, honesty, and vibrant personality will remain eternal in the hearts she leaves behind.
