Carmie Wesley-Beschman, age 83, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY.
She was born January 25, 1941 to the late Samuel Jackson Wesley and Mathel Eva (Irvine) Wesley. She worked for many years caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Northern Kentucky. Carmie was recognized as a Kentucky Colonel. She had a massive heart for animals, adopting strays of all kinds. She was also known to have a green thumb, having a great love for flowers and plants.
She is survived by her husband, Gustava Albert "Al" Beschman III; two daughters, Jennifer Carol Halsey, of Sadieville, KY, and Jan & (Paul) Byrum, of Allen, TX; two grandchildren, Matthew Byrum and Rachel Byrum; and several nieces and nephews, including David Wesley, Debbie Wesley-Goessens, Dixie Wesley-Rhoton, Pam Wesley-Piezer, and Paula Wesley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Delbert Wesley, Rothel Wesley, and Verthel Wesley.
Private services have been held.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland and the Pulaski County Animal Shelter.
Morris and Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill, KY, assisted the family with arrangements.
