Carol Jean Bailey, age 86, of Menominee passed away on November 17, 2025 at the Luther Home in Marinette. Carol Jean was born February 11, 1939 in Menominee to Warren and Anna (Highdale) Bailey. She lived in Manistique, MI for a short period and then moved back to Menominee. Carol Jean graduated from Menominee High School in 1957 and attended the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago where she studied music. She worked at Fish, Net & Twine as a receptionist in her senior year and later was employed for 36 years at Wisconsin Public Service, retiring in 1993.
She was a gifted musician, being able to play six instruments and music was her greatest joy. She was organist and pianist at several area churches. She played at Bethel Baptist Church, First Church of Christ, Scientist, First United Methodist, Central Lutheran, Luther Home and at First Presbyterian Church in Menominee where she was organist, pianist and choir director.
She enjoyed rosemaling, textiles, traveling, going to Packer games and Menominee football and basketball games.
Carol Jean is survived by cousins; nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats, Kitty and Juno. She was preceded in death by her father, Warren, in 1986 and her mother, Anna, in 1995.
A private graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
Memorial contributions for Community Covenant Church in Menominee are suggested.
