Carol Lynn Bohlmann (Nee Severson) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Adolph and Elizabeth Severson on August 6, 1942. After attending Mt. Lebanon Lutheran Grade School for Kindergarten, Carol completed her elementary education at Atonement Lutheran Grade School, where she was confirmed. After graduating from Atonement, Carol continued her education at Lutheran High in Milwaukee. In August of 1959, Carol married her childhood sweetheart, Jim Bohlmann. They started their family the following year. While Carol worked outside of the home as the school secretary at Atonement for a period and held other secretarial and bookkeeping positions in various companies, Carol was first and foremost committed to being the best wife and mother she could be, and she was an exceptional one. In addition to being an exceptional wife and mother, Carol was a servant leader. Possessing significant planning skills, Carol generously used her expertise to support many endeavors including the Wisconsin Amputee Golf Association's annual tournament and various church ministries. Jim and Carol experienced hardships throughout their lives, but Carol never stopped creating an exceptionally harmonious home filled with love.
Carol was also remarkable at connecting with people and established many friendships during her lifetime. Carol became lifelong friends with many of Jim's classmates and their wives. These friends, some of whom are in heaven with her, held a very special place in her heart. Carol's circle of friends was forever growing. In 1993, she and Jim moved to Florida. God continued to bless Carol and Jim in their new home state with a host of new friends with whom they became very close while playing golf, playing cards, and going out to dinner with them. Carol and Jim continued to serve their Lord and community during the 30 years they lived in Florida. When God called Jim home to his eternal rest in January 2023, Carol moved to Roswell, Georgia, near her children and their families. While the loss of her husband and best friend was tough, the sadness she was feeling receded a bit when she joined her brothers and sisters in Christ as a member of Messiah Johns Creek and found her new home at Vickery Rose Retirement Resort. In a very short time, she made new friends whom she grew to love dearly while playing games and eating meals with one another. She often said she was blessed to have found such a wonderful home. She loved so many people who lived and worked at Vickery Rose.
Carol peacefully walked into her Savior's loving arms on May 10, 2025, at the age of 82. She is survived by her children, Steve (Heidi), Beth (Mark), and Chris (Kevin) and their families; her six grandchildren and their families; her six great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law Thelma Bohlmann, Joan Sande, and Doris Severson; nieces, nephews, and their families; and several other relatives and many dearly loved friends.
The celebration of Carol's life and her faith in Jesus will take place July 5 at Messiah Johns Creek. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a meal to follow. Messiah is located at 4765 Kimball Bridge Rd, Johns Creek, GA. The family would appreciate memorial gifts be directed to Wisconsin Lutheran High School, an institution Carol and Jim passionately supported.
"I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes – I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!" Job 19:25-27
