Carol Barbara Cool

Carol Barbara Schaal Cool, 75, of St. Georges, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family on September 7, 2025, following an illness.
Born December 22, 1949, in Wilmington, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Schaal and Catherine "Kitty" Galvin Schaal.
Carol was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and traveler. She enjoyed visiting her favorite place, Las Vegas, where she would play slot machines and gamble. She had a fondness for impromptu road trips, spending time at the beach, boating, lighthouses, and dolphins. She enjoyed dining out, especially at seafood restaurants, and her macaroni and cheese was always highly anticipated at family gatherings. Ms. Cool is lovingly remembered for her sense of humor, but most importantly, her kind, gentle, and selfless nature; she was the epitome of altruism by putting the needs, well-being, and interests of others above her own.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael Schaal and Matthew Schaal, and her adoring feline companion, Buster.
Surviving her is her lifelong companion, Howard E. Jones of St. Georges, a daughter, Stephanie Cool Adams and her husband Jeff of South Carolina; sons, Raymond "Ray" Cool and his wife Tracy of Smyrna, and Kenneth "Kenny" Cool and his husband Russ of Lewes; a sister, Felicia "Lee" Schaal Baines and her husband Ron of Maryland; grandchildren, Christopher, Brittany, Brandon, Maddie, Lou, and Michael; five great-grandchildren; Howard's children, Debbie Jones Jester and Chris Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 15, 2025, at 12 noon at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 North Broad Street, Middletown, Delaware, 19709. The family will receive friends for viewing one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in St. Georges Cemetery, Kirkwood St. Georges Road, Bear, Delaware, 19701.
