Carol Dieters Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Ann (Manders) Dieters, 82, of Dubuque, Iowa. Carol peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Friends and family may visit from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Cathedral of St. Raphael. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Cathedral with Rev. Dennis Quint officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.
Carol was born on December 24, 1942, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Ervin Manders and Bernice (Speak) Manders-Frost. She married Dale Dieters on March 22, 1962, in Denver, Colorado.
Carol was a devoted homemaker and held various jobs throughout the Dubuque area. She had a passion for traveling with her family and grandchildren, always looking forward to new adventures. She loved to shop, find great bargains, and generously give to those in need. One of her greatest joys was taking her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to Santa's Village each year, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
Carol and Dale also traveled frequently, primarily to visit long-distance family members, as family was at the heart of everything she did. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Dale, children Michelle, (Joseph) Green, Melissa McElmeel, and Dale Jr. (Jessica) Dieters, grandchildren Amanda (Jason) LeFebvre, Casey (Randi) Green, Courtney (Adam) Gilligan, Kendra McElmeel, Dustin (Kelsey) Rickels, Autumn Wersinger, Hillary (Jude) Foster, Brittney (Billy) Veach, Emily (Jake) Schmidt, Kalie (Tyler) Garien and Elizabeth Dieters, great-grandchildren Lillian, Holli and Karlli Green, Carter Smith, Milo, Rowan and Quinn Gilligan, Eliza Robledo, Paisley Van Horn, Milah and Axel Banowetz, Memphis Turonie, Willow, Archer, Caydence and Julian Foster, Maverick, Connor and Oaklynn Veach, McKinlee, Averi, Jameson and Emersyn Schmidt, Natalie Licht, Rhett Garien, and baby Deliah (expected in April). She is also survived by her great-step-grandchildren Willow, Jasmin, and Kyro Ahrens. Carol is also survived by her sisters Sheila (Jerry) Shireman and Mary Frost, sister-in-law LeeAnn Frost, brother-in-law Ron Miller, and other in-laws Ruth Motsch and Mary Ann Dieters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepson Timothy Dieters, siblings Kathleen (Ron) Nelson, Kenneth Manders, Michael "Mickey" Manders, MaryLou Manders, Betty (Jesse) Ingles Miller, and Thomas Frost. She was also preceded in death by her in-laws Kenneth (Edith) Dieters, Maynard Dieters, Clifford Dieters, Eilene Weidenbacher, and Merlin Dieters, as well as her great-grandchildren, baby angel twins Jameson and Ivy Hinrichsen.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff that cared for Carol for their professional care and kindness- especially Megan and Julie from Above and Beyond Hospice.
