Carol E. Ellsworth, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at the age of 65, at Four Seasons Living Center in Sedalia, Missouri.

Carol was born on May 20, 1960, in San Francisco, California, the daughter of Nancy and Harry Sturgeon. She attended elementary school in Menlo Park, California. Her family later moved to Bedford, New York, where she graduated from Byram Hills High School.

Following graduation, Carol returned to California, where she loved the local beaches and music scene in Santa Cruz. She later settled in White Plains, New York, where she lived for many years. Carol shared her home with her beloved cat, Lula, and volunteered regularly at a local gift shop. Eventually, Carol moved to the Kansas City area to be close to her brother, Alex. Carol will be remembered for her love of rock music, her joy in thrifting for jewelry, and her creativity in watercolors and handmade cards.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Ellsworth, her father, Harry Sturgeon, and her adoptive father, Robert T. Ellsworth, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Alex Sturgeon; her sisters, Susan Flierl, Linda Ellsworth, and Nancy Swenson; her nephew, Andreas Flierl; and her niece, Sofia Flierl. Carol shared a lifelong bond with her dear friend, Mike Jaqua.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Four Seasons Living Center and the hospice team for their compassionate care in her final days. A private family memorial will be held.
