Carol A. Elmergreen, Mountain, age 84, died Friday, May 3, 2024 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. She was born in Kaukauna on July 6, 1939 to the late Earl and Josephine (Van Holst) Alger. She married Eugene "Mickey" Elmergreen on August 29, 1959 at St. Mary of the Seven Dolors Parish, Stockbridge. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1992. Carol was always on the go! She loved being with people, whether cooking for get-togethers, snuggling with her grandbabies, traveling and doing road trips, playing cards and other games, swimming with her friends and finding a good place to eat! She was always up for a good time!
Carol is survived by her children: Judy (Doug) Vogel of Brilllion and their daughter, Stephanie (Mike) Taddy (great grandchildren Hailey, Hunter, William, and Evelyn Taddy); Josie (Kent) Ecker of Eagle River and their children, Kimberly (Dustin) Grentz (great grandchildren Elise, Samuel, Gabriel, and Nathaniel Grentz); Kiley (Jesse) Grentz (great grandchildren Joelle, Jacstin, and Katrian Grentz); Klaudia (Tyler) Siebers (great grandchild Montgomery Siebers); and Kallie Ecker; Jean (Ken) Mueller of Stockbridge and their children, Shayla (Justin) Pellmann (great grandchildren Ava, Cameron, and Malcolm Pellmann); Kelsey (Max) Lacy (great grandchild Evelyn Lacy); Paige (Ty) Bodden (great grandchildren Leora and Eliana Bodden); and Ashlynn Mueller; David Elmergreen of Alma and his children, Zachary, Ashley, and Megan Elmergreen; former daughter-in-law, Cindy Hanke; brothers-in-law, Les Winius, Richard, Edward, James, and Dennis Elmergreen; and sisters-in-law: Mary and Dot Alger and Rosalie Parsons; special nieces: Patty (Bob) Moehn, Andrea (Jesse) Buechel, Nick (fiancée Kayla) Moehn, and Alyce (Tom) Head; and special friends: Andi Lynn, Val, Jo, Dawn, JJ, Bonnie, and Connie. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mickey, Carol was preceded in death by her great grandson, Elijah Bodden; siblings: Irene (infant), Geroge (Gladys) Alger, Archie (Lorraine) Alger, Joyce (Robert) Schmitt, Bernard (Gloria) Alger, Robert (Bernadette "Cricket") Alger, June (Jake) Weber, Pat Winius, John Alger, and Ronald Alger; and brothers-in-law: Michael and Donald Elmergreen.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 at ST. MARY OF THE SEVEN DOLORS (201 S. Military Road, Stockbridge) from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. The Mass will follow at 12 Noon with the Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Committal St. Mary Cemetery, Stockbridge.

Bridget and myself extend our greatest sympathy to Judy and Doug. I knew Carol for a long time and always enjoyed chatting with her. Carol raised some amazing children, she will be deeply missed but Heaven awaits her.
