CAROL EPPS Obituary

CAROL D. EPPS Carol Diane Epps, 81 of Lee's Summit, MO passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024. Cremation is planned with a celebration of her life to be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Speaks Suburban. Private inurnment will be in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Donations may be made in her name to Outreach International. Carol was born June 11, 1942 in Kansas City, KS to Maxwell and Delores (Mittelstaedt) Deck. She grew up in Kansas City, KS and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1960 and from CMSU in 1964 with a BS in Education. She worked as a teacher at the Kansas School for the Blind and as a librarian in several Michigan communities, as well as years of volunteering for a variety of organizations. As a lifelong member of the Community of Christ, she and her husband served on assignment for the church for a number of years in different locations. She married Gary L. Epps on June 4, 1965 and enjoyed many years of marriage until his passing on July 6, 2009. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Brison and husband Steven of Lee's Summit, MO; a son, Brian Epps and wife Heidi of Lee's Summit, MO; a sister, Dr. Robin Deck and husband Dr. Robert Main of Gainesville, MO; a brother, Brent Deck of Kansas City, KS and 3 grandchildren, Gareth Brison (Haley), Logan Epps and Jason Epps.
