Peacefully at Howard University Hospital on Monday, January 12, 2026. Loving husband of the late Roselyn Payne Epps, M.D.; father of Kenneth C. Epps, MBA (Carrie), Roselyn E. Epps, M.D., Howard R. Epps, M.D. (Phyllis) and the late Charles H. Epps, III, M.D.; grandfather of Nathan, Robert, Griffin, and Campbell Epps. Also surviving are his brother Robert Epps (Mary), cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. From 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, January 22, friends may call at Peoples Congregational United Church of Christ, 4704 – 13th St., N.W., where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment at Rock Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Charles H. Epps, Jr. Endowed Chair in Orthopedic Surgery at Howard University.
