Bennie Frank Epps, age 60, transitioned peacefully from this life on Monday, December 15, 2025, at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was a native of Utica, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Bennie was educated in the Utica School System. He was employed as a professional painter, who was respected for his skills, dedication, and strong work ethics. Bennie’s favorite pastime was fishing, where he found peace and joy, which reflected his calm spirit and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Bennie will be remembered for his steady presence, loving heart, and unwavering dedication to his family. Beloved husband of Shawn Hovis. Devoted father of Dasean Hovis and Curtis Hovis. Loving grandfather of Angel Hovis. Son of Herbert Lee Epps, Sr. and Bessie Lee Harris Daniels of Utica, MS. Grandson of the late Joseph Harris and Willie Bell Byther Harris. Brother of Patricia Epps Jones, Princess Harris Frazier, both of Utica, MS, Rebecca Daniels Ezenwanne of Clinton, MS, Valerie Watts Jones of Hazelhurst, MS, Arnise Watts Montgomery of Hazelhurst, MS, Milton Daniels of Clinton, MS, Tyrone Watts, Jeffery Brown of Harvey, LA, and the late Herbert Harris Epps, Jr. Son-in-law of the late Romalis Charles and Beulah Diane Charles. Nephew of the late Willie Mae Harris. Also cherishing his memories are a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Elder Joseph Brown, officiating.
