Rita Ledet Obituary
Rita Mary Ledet entered into eternal rest on December 26, 2025. Beloved daughter of the late Clement Joseph Ledet, Sr. and Bertha L. Ledet. Youngest sister of Paul J. Ledet and the late Clement J. Ledet, Jr., Cecelia Caperino, Alvin J. Ledet, Sr., Shirley L. Powers, Gerard “Jerry” Ledet, Sr., Robert J. Ledet, Joseph G. Ledet, Sr., Bertha L. Dragon, John J. Ledet, and Anne L. Rodrigue. Sister-in-law of Joseph Caperino, Sonny Dragon, and Mary M. Ledet. Age 73 years, and lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Rita was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Angels, Waggaman, LA as well as a Eucharistic Minister, Catechism teacher, and volunteer with Lenten Fish Fries. She was an officer of Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary of Marrero and Waggaman. Rita resided at Marrero Healthcare Center where she was elected Resident of the Month, Maid in the Mardi Gras Court, enjoyed Mass and daily activities, and visiting with family and friends. Special thanks to Karen Laborde, Mary Ledet, and the late Shirley Powers for their care in her later years.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 1:30 PM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until funeral time.
