Carol Lynn Haithcox, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 22, 2024. At the time of her passing, she resided at Greenlake Senior Living in Gig Harbor, Washington. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Haven of Rest Funeral Home, 8503 WA-16, Gig Harbor, WA 98223 on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The Rev. Andrew Geist of Beacon Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at the Haven of Rest Cemetery immediately following the Celebration of Live service.
Carol was born September 3, 1938 at Green Level, Wake County, North Carolina, graduated from Apex High School, and attended Danville Technical Institute, which is now Danville Community College. Carol was a homemaker and raised two sons while working several part-time jobs over the years including school bus driver, mystery shopper, and free clinic staff member.
She is survived by two sisters, Linda Clark (Vic) and Mary Ervin (Donnie). two sons, Grady Eugene Haithcox Jr. (Lesley) of Gig Harbor, WA, and Timothy John Haithcox (Leah) of Grand Rapids, MI; three grandsons, Bryan William Haithcox (Kathryn), Stephen Wesley Haithcox (Lauren), and Timothy James Haithcox; two great grandsons, Bryan William Haithcox, Jr, and Bradley James Haithcox; and one great granddaughter, Andi Mae Christie. She also had numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She loved God, and she loved her family. She was known to join in enthusiastically when Grady, her husband of 65 years would sing to her, "You are my Sunshine." She is now reunited with him, and is in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
