Carol C. Hallisey - 83, Rockland, MA
Carol C. Hallisey, 83, of Rockland, passed away suddenly on October 12. Born and raised in Rockland, she was the devoted daughter of the late Edward T. and Florence (Nolan) Cullinan, and the sister of the late Edward T. Cullinan Jr. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Hallisey.
Carol is survived by her longtime companion, Al Cooper of Rockland; her sister-in-law, Jane (Newcomb) Cullinan; her three sons, Daniel Patten, Christopher Patten, and David Patten; many nieces and nephews; and her cherished grandchildren, for whom she was lovingly known as GiGi.
In 1976 Carol began a lifelong career with a small non-profit in Brockton dedicated to serving low-income women and children across Southeastern Massachusetts. As executive secretary she played a key role in securing state grants and other funding that improved the lives of thousands of clients. Her work was driven by compassion and an unwavering dedication to those who could not speak for themselves - you always wanted Carol in your corner.
Carol loved to travel, especially to Aruba, Florida, and Las Vegas (Lost Wages). She treasured time with close friends, in particular "her girls" Cheryl Ames and Jill Mentis. Known for her warm heart, sharp humor, and fierce advocacy, Carol touched the lives of everyone who knew her and will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Penelope's Place, 942 West Chestnut Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
Carol's family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral home on November 22, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
