Carol Lee Hansen

Carol Lee Hansen, 85, of Huntley, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
She was born on December 6, 1939 in to Johan and Lena (Hollinger) Mayerhofer. She married Roy Paul Hansen Jr. in 1976. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2014.
Carol moved to Huntley from Downers Grove in 2021, and attended Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church. She was an avid gardener, and dedicated much of her time to maintaining her beautiful garden. She dabbled in photography, enjoyed doing genealogical research, and was a devoted dog mom. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and G.G. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son, Scott (Traci) Hansen, and daughter, Kathy Estes; her grandchildren, Rachel and Samantha Ablacinski, and Haylee Hansen; her great-grandchildren, Savannah Hansen and Braden; and her pet dog, Happy.
In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Mayerhofer; as well as two of her dogs, Shadow and Pepper.
Visitation will be held at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 9am until time of funeral service at 11 am. Burial will immediately follow at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Huntley Animal Shelter be made in Carol's honor.
