A graveside service for Carol Gene Hardage, age 85 of Hideaway, Texas, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery in Tyler, Texas with Ginger Brandt officiating.
Carol peacefully passed on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at her home in Hideaway. She was born May 26, 1939, in Wheeler, Texas to the late Clarence Ernest Wilhelm and Margaret Valoise (Evans) Massey. Carol has lived in Hideaway since 1996 and was previously of Lawton, Oklahoma and Vernon, Texas. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Tyler where she enjoyed helping in different ministries within the church. Carol retired as Vice Principal after many years of academic service in Lawton, Oklahoma. In her spare time, she was an accomplished pianist, enjoyed sewing, and above all else, was lovingly devoted to her family and James' family. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, James Hardage, stepfather, James Massey, brother-in-law, Victor Curtis Taylor, and aunt and uncle, Van and Mary Evans Vansant.
She is survived by her sisters, Sunny Keene and husband, James Smith Keene of Hideaway, and Casey Taylor of Hideaway, nieces, Jamie Dobbs, Barrie Keene, Renee Hardage and Noel McCarter, as well as her beloved great nieces and nephews and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Caudle-Rutledge- Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas.

When we moved to Hideaway 23 years ago, Carol and James became one of our closest friends. Over the years we shared dinners, laughter, tennis and so much more. We will miss Carol but she will always be in our memories and our hearts.
