Funeral services for Mack Merritt Cox, age 88 of Hideaway, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas with Pastor Kevin Diggs and Pastor Louis Mizell officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. An interment is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. ~ Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the DFW National Cemetery.

Mack passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on June 18, 1937, in Dallas, Texas to the late William McKinnley and Helen (Merritt) Cox. Mack has lived in Hideaway for the past 16 years where he was a member of the Hideaway Lake Community Church. He was previously a longtime resident of both Dallas and San Benito, Texas. After many years of service, Mack retired from the United States Navy, specializing in Intelligence details. In his spare time Mack enjoyed playing tennis, reading, traveling, and watching Baylor Football. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Williamson.

Mach is survived by his wife, Linda Cox of Hideaway; children, Heather Gandy and husband, Anthony of Warrenville, Illinois, Aimee Diggs and husband, Kevin of Eddy, Texas, and Bradley Kerrigan and wife, Cheryl of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Gracie Diggs and Brooke Kirhofer and husband, Jake; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Hideaway Lake Community Church's missions program.
