On February 19, 2026 Carol May (Wentworth) Harris passed away peacefully. She was born September 9, 1939 in Mead, Kansas to Arloine and Harry Wentworth.
She grew-up on a farm near Rocky Ford and attended Cheraw School and Otero Jr College where she received a business degree. Her first job was at the five and dime in Rocky Ford while attending high school. Carol was like a second Mom to her youngest siblings, Brenda and Charlene. She would come home from a ballgame and rock her crying baby sister Brenda to sleep. She also made sure her sister Charlene in 1st grade, got on the right school bus home.
In 1959 Carol married James Harris. They were married for 66 years. Her final job before retirement was working at the Harris Bros Body Shop as a bookkeeper. Her most beloved job was raising her two sons, Mike and Doug. She loved to sew and was an excellent cook Carol loved babies and would stop to admire anyone who had one.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Harris, sister Janice Spain, sister JoAnn Blunkall, and parents Arloine and Harry Wentworth.. She leaves behind her two sons, Mike (Darla) and Doug Harris, two sisters, Brenda Igou, and Charlene Richardson (Pat) and four grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat Missy.
She will always be remembered for her laughter, smile, friendliness, hospitality and her readiness to help and listen to anyone who might need it. Rest in peace Carol. We love you and miss you.
