Carol Heller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lyndahl Funeral Home on Nov. 26, 2025.
Carol J. Heller, age 80 of Green Bay, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025 at a local nursing home following a 10-month battle with cancer, surrounded by family.

The former Carol Pitt was born on July 10, 1945, in Shawano, a daughter of the late Arno and Erma (Berkhahn) Pitt. She grew up on a farm south of Bonduel and graduated in 1963 from Bonduel High School. On August 28, 1965, Carol was married to Steven R. Heller at Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano. Over the years, Carol worked at various places, Chief Pontiac Sales in Bonduel, The Pulaski Pickle Factory, A.C. Nielsen's, and ran an in-home daycare at her residence. After retirement, she worked part-time at Younkers. Carol enjoyed playing softball, bowling and watching her kids and grandkids play all different sports. She also loved watching her husband play softball in the Shawano area where she formed many friendships. The family enjoyed their cottage at Shawano Lake for over 50 years where they fished, swam, boated, and hosted lots of parties with friends and neighbors around the campfire.

Survivors include her husband: Steven Heller; one son and daughter-in-law: Mark (Leslie) Heller; one daughter and son-in-law: Mary (Jesse) Metoxen; two grandsons: Jacob and Justin; step grandchildren: Jason, Tara, John and Jesse; one brother and sister-in-law: John (Sally) Pitt; one brother-in-law: Stu (Charlene) Heller; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Arno and Erma Pitt; two brothers: Gary (Audrey) Pitt and Arnie (Carol) Pitt; one sister: Mary Pitt; one niece: Julie Gipp; and many aunts and uncles.

Private family services will happen at a later date. Carol's cremated remains will be buried at the Shawano Woodland City Cemetery.

The Heller family would like to also thank the staff, nurses and doctors at St Vincent's Cancer Center, Unity Hospice and Woodside Manor for the care they provide Carol.

So sorry to hear of Carol's passing. She was so good caring for my two toddlers McKenzie and Kylie. At my dental office we always looked forward to Carol's cheerful outlook and smile. Our lives were fuller having known her.

My love to Carol´s family. I remember fondly our teen years and the many times I stayed at the farm. Being a town girl I loved the experience of milking a cow, riding the pony and just fooling around. All the kids had morning chores before school. Carol was one of my best friends and there was always the Saturday nights when I got my father´s car, loaded up a bunch of girls and off we went. Such fun. My deepest sympathy to you Steve and brother John. Anita Harrmann (Graziano)
