Carol Ann Montigny-Hixon, 69, passed away peacefully at her home in Old Town, Florida, on October 8, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones - her son Robert J. White, stepson Gary L. Hixon, Jr. (Misti Mann-France), and former husband John P. Donnell, Sr.
Born September 14, 1956, in Lewiston, Maine, Carol moved from St. Petersburg to Old Town, Florida, in 2021.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gary L. Hixon, Sr.; her parents Emile E. Montigny and Cecile A. (Caron-Zittel) Montigny; and her brother Leo E. Montigny.
Carol is survived by her children - Robert J. White, John P. Donnell, Jr. (Kristin Taylor), and Tammy L. Donnell; her stepchildren - Sue A. Hixon, Gary L. Hixon, Jr., and Monica S. Hixon-Dalton; her sister Linda J. Montigny-Kidder-Marcoux (Victor Ford); brother David L. Montigny; and sister-in-law Patricia A. (Patty) Hixon Branscomb (James W. Branscomb).
She was the proud grandmother of Robert J. White II, Leigha N. White, Jayden T. Donnell, John P. Donnell III, Khloe G. Donnell, Kiana R. Hixon, Dejonae L. Hixon, Anthony Ryan L. Hixon, Justin L. Hixon, Savannah L. Hixon, Owen L. Green, April Ann Marie Dalton (Tyler Huff), and Vicki L. Dalton-Poe (Dalton Poe); and great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by niece Alida Martinez, nephew and godson Richard E. Kidder (Adriana Kidder), nephew Jeffery Montigny, and her cherished pets Harley Blossom and Chatoyancy (Chatty), along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Carol was a Life Member of F.O.E. Seminole Aerie 4147, Charter Member of F.O.E. 4147 Eagle Riders and F.O.E. Pinellas Park Aerie 4250, Life Member of Suwannee River Amvets 422, and a proud member of Old Town American Legion Post 383 and Suwannee River Moose Lodge 325.
She enjoyed hunting morel mushrooms in the spring, riding her ATV with her dog Harley Blossom, taking walks with Harley Blossom and Chatty, playing cards with family and friends, gardening, reading the Bible, and playing soft-tip darts. Carol was best known for her warm hospitality and her love of family - she proudly hosted Thanksgiving every year, bringing together family and friends to share good food, laughter, and lasting memories.
Before retiring, Carol worked as a bookkeeper at LTA International.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Committal will take follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at 12:00pm.
A Celebration of Life will follow the service at 2:00p.m at the Eagles Post 4147.
