Carol Hollis Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carol Jean Hollis, who left her family and friends with the greatest sadness and broken hearts.

Funeral service for Carol Jean Hollis, of Websters Chapel will be held at 2pm Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Funeral Home. Pastor Donald Douthit will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1pm until time of service at the funeral home.

Carol passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 after being on life support.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Michael Lee Hollis (Janey Beal); her beloved grandchildren, Masen Beal, Jasen Hollis, Gabriel Hollis, and Emma Jean Hollis; mother, Lillian Hollis; siblings, Ruth Ribis (Matt), Thomas Hollis, James Hollis (Linda), Lois Shew (Lynn), Robert Hollis, Kenneth Hollis, Jeffrey Hollis (Michelle), and Linda Stone (Daren); and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends who loved her dearly.

Before her tragic car accident that left her wheelchair bound, Carol devoted most of her adult life to working in school lunchrooms, serving as both staff and manager at Websters Chapel and later Pleasant Valley School. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Williams, where she lovingly cared for children in the nursery years ago. Carol found her greatest love and joy in raising and cherishing her son and grandchildren. Family was everything to her, and throughout her life she extended care and kindness to countless adults and children. She loved cooking for everyone. She found delight in music and singing, enjoyed sewing and crafting, and above all she loved to laugh and make others laugh. Her laughter was contagious, her heart was generous, and she never met a stranger. She was truly one of a kind, and she will be missed tremendously. Our hearts will forever treasure the precious memories we hold with her. We rejoice in knowing she loved Jesus and is now home with Him.

Pallbearers will be Derek Stone, Josh Hollis, David Hollis, Matt Ribis, Travis Atchley, Sam Estes, Jacob Estes, and Brennen Davis.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Home Nurses for their loving and devoted care.
