Covert Funeral Home - OvidCarol M. Jackson, age 81, longtime resident of Iron Bridge Road, died at Absolute Care in Painted Post, long term care became necessary after a serious car accident in 2021.
Carol was born in Geneva on August 16, 1944, a daughter of the late Stuart and Marie Bell Dodson. She was married to David Jackson in 1963, and together they made their home in Ovid. Carol had worked briefly at Sampson State Hospital and later at Willard Psychiatric Center, but her primary focus was her home and family. Carol also provided childcare in her home for many local kids while she was raising her family. She was a dedicated life member of American Legion Post #463 Auxiliary, where she made many lifelong friends.
Carol is survived by her husband, David of Ovid; and her children, Nancy M. Day of Florida, Pamela A. Eddy of Ovid, James D. Jackson of Virginia and Scott T. Jackson of Willard; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; her siblings, Janice Cosby and Fran Green of Florida, Ronnie (MaryLou) Dodson of Ovid and Chuck Dodson of Indiana.
Visitation will be held from Noon to 2:00pm on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid, and a celebration of her life then be held at American Legion Post #463 from 2:00 to 4:00.
