Carol Theresa Johnson

Carol Theresa Johnson was born September 25, 1957 in Gary, Indiana to Isaiah Johnson Sr. & Hattie Lee Johnson.

She was a Lew Wallace High School alumni. She thrived in the Gary Community School system for many consecutive years before she retired as a cafeteria staff member. She was so devoted to her job because it combined two of her favorite things, children and cooking. Carol was the life of the party. Bringing joy, love, and laughter to every room she stepped in. She also love her music. A great day for her was a Nelly song playing and a Pepsi in her hand.

On January 25, 2026 Carol transitioned into eternal rest joining her parents, Isaiah Sr & Hattie Lee Johnson, her son James Newell, six brothers Isaiah Johnson Jr, Rev. Willie Lee Johnson, James Bell, Clyde Johnson, Calvin Joyner, and Leon Cook, one sister Leona Bell.

Carol's memory will be cherished by four sons Keyon Johnson, Ronald Newell, Timothy Newell, & Rodney Carter. One goddaughter Keyona (Kenny) Smith. Seven brothers, I.J. Johnson, Wyatt (Hattie) Johnson, Glenn Johnson, Charles Johnson, Alfred Bynum, Rev. Johnny Johnson, and Vince Johnson Sr. Eight sisters Denise Lambert, Judith Cisson, Ethel Cole, Jacqueline (Donald) Lewis, Sarah Cook, Susie Johnson, Latanza Plummer, and Geraldine Mitchell. Eleven Grandsons. Six Granddaughters. Four Great-Grandsons. One Great-Granddaughter and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
