Obituary published on Legacy.com by Langley Funeral Home - Camp Hill on Jan. 6, 2026.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Carol Ann Kuykendall, 88, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 2:30 pm at First Baptist Church Dadeville. Dr. Ben Hayes and Rev. Eric Kuykendall will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dadeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church Dadeville.

Mrs. Carol Ann Kuykendall, a beacon of unwavering faith and love, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, in Dadeville, AL. Born on July 26, 1937, in Ensley, AL, Carol's vibrant spirit and compassionate heart touched the lives of all who knew her throughout her 88 years.

Carol will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 65 years, Rev. Albert Ray Kuykendall. Together, they built a legacy of faith and family that will continue to inspire generations. Their partnership and mutual support were the cornerstone of a life rich in love and service. She was the beloved mother of Elizabeth Ann (Philip) Marcus, Rev. Charles Grady (Michele) Kuykendall, and Rev. Jonathan Eric (SuJeong) Kuykendall. Through her example, she instilled values of service, perseverance, faith, and a strong work ethic in her children.

Carol's memory will be treasured by her grandchildren, Justin (Kristen) Marcus, Daniel (Christiana) Kuykendall, Noah Kuykendall, Nathan Kuykendall, Jesse (Sterling) Kuykendall, Amanda (Jacob) Pope, and Jackson Kuykendall. Her great-grandchildren, Elijah Marcus, Penelope Marcus, and Ezekial Pope, will grow up hearing tales of her strength and compassion for missions. Carol is also survived by her sister, Jean (Dwain) Warr.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, George C. McCullough, her mother, Ethel McCullough, and her son, David Cates Kuykendall.

Carol's professional life was marked by service and compassion. She proudly served as a nurse in the United States Air Force, a role that allowed her to extend her care to those in need while serving her country. Her dedication to nurturing others continued as she transitioned into teaching, where she shared her knowledge and compassion as a nursing instructor and later as a Special Education teacher. Eventually, as a teacher of international students, she served as a bridge for newcomers to American culture. Her work impacted countless lives and instilled a sense of confidence and hope in her students.

Carol's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. An avid antique collector, she found joy in the beauty and history of each piece she acquired. Carol stood strong alongside her husband in ministry for many years, serving her community and offering support and guidance to those in need. Carol's creativity produced many beautiful tablescapes for church events, inspiring a space for fun and fellowship. She was strong and opinionated, never shying away from standing up for what she believed in. Her unwavering faith was evident to all, as she witnessed to everyone she came in contact with, spreading a message of hope and salvation. Her favorite offering was the Lottie Moon Offering. Carol always reminded loved ones that the Church must cling to their commission - go and tell. "Shine for Jesus!"

Described as faith-filled, loving, and passionate, Carol Ann Kuykendall's life was a testament to the power of love and faith in Jesus. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly through the family. Her journey on earth may have concluded, but her witness will have eternal impact.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Missions (Annie Armstrong or Lottie Moon) at First Baptist Church, 178 S. Tallassee Street, Dadeville, AL 36853 or to your local church.

I loved Carol. We had many wonderful Sunday morning conversations on the front pew before service started. She and Ray visited our home often bringing sweet gifts and praying with us and over us. Her friendship was a great blessing in my life and I am so thankful that God brought her into my life.
