Mrs. Carol Elaine Lauri Hogan, 82, of Buffalo Junction, VA passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
Mrs. Hogan was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 5, 1943 to parents Charles and Katherine Lauri. She worked in the financial district on Wall Street in the 1960’s, for the Florida School District in the late 70’s through the 80’s which she enjoyed thoroughly, and retired from WalMart in South Boston, VA in 2003.
Her favorite job was being Nanny Carol to her grandchildren and all the adopted children who came along with the grandkids. Whether it was her weekly pork chops, love of the weather channel, her love of music, Nanny loved her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her beloved husband, James “Jimmy” Hogan, and her favorite nephew, Gary Yander.
Left behind to miss her dearly are her daughters, Lisa Stoner Ramsey (Scott) of Buffalo Junction, VA and Trish Mettler (Eddie) of Inverness, FL; grandchildren, Ashley Dickinson (Steve) of Buffalo Junction with great grandchildren, Kynlee, Braylinn and Kysen; Brittney Stoner (Liz) of Alton, Va and great-grandson, Bryson; Will Perkins of South Boston, VA and his father, Lee Perkins; sister, Diana (Ben) Yander of Farmingdale, NY; adopted daughter, best friend, Lisa Propst of Skipwith, VA ; and her sidekick of many years, Oscar the dog, along with extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Jackie Wray, officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lake Country SPCA, P.O. Box 14, Clarksville, VA 23927
