Carol Ann Lazar

The family of Carol Ann Lazar is saddened to announce her peaceful passing on August 23, 2025. She was 80 years old. Carol was born in Manhattan, New York to William and Vincenza Funk. She grew up in Sunnyside with her sister, Grace. In early adulthood, Carol and her family moved to Southern California where she raised her three daughters.

Carol worked for the City of Irvine for over 25 years after which she retired and spent her time volunteering at church and spending time with her grandchildren. Carol was an avid shopper – spending many a Saturday afternoon at the local Kohl's which was her favorite spot to shop. She was a devout Catholic and served at both St. Matthew and St. Edward Catholic Churches in Corona.

Family was very important to Carol, and she spent a great deal of time with a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly. Carol was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be dearly missed by all.

Carol is survived by her daughters Caryn Ray, Robyn (Jeff) Francis and Allyson Bruner, her sister Grace Fisher and her four grandchildren – Tanner, Chloe, Olivia and William.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholich Church in Huntington Beach on Friday, September 12 at 10:30am with burial to immediately follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carol's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
