Alexander LaZar, 25, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 1st, 2025.
He was born on February 4th, 2000, in Erie, a son of Jennifer Miraszek and Joseph LaZar.
Alex graduated from Collegiate Academy, class of 2018, where he was a member of the ROTC program there for 2 years. He then went on to attend the Erie Institute of Technology. He currently worked as a mechanic for Rick Weaver in Erie. Alex enjoyed playing video games and spending time with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Frederick Huttel, in May of 2025; as well as his great grandfather, John Miraszek.
In addition to his parents, Jennifer and Joseph, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Beverly Huttel; brother, Brendan Glass; sister, Courtney LaZar; uncles, Christopher Huttel and Adam LaZar; aunts, Erin McClelland and Tara Velez; Great aunt, Kathy Zierenberg; Great uncle, James Greene, all of Erie; Best Friends, Blake Heynoski, Tony Luciano, and Quinn Gustafson; maternal grandfather, John “Jay” Miraszek (Donna); paternal grandparents, Joe and Joyce LaZar; as well as great grandparents, Thomas and Violet Greene, of Erie. He is further survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to call at Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie on Wednesday August 6th from 3pm until 7pm. And are invited to attend a funeral service there on Thursday at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
