Carol Sue Linderman Justice, 74, of Shiremanstown, PA, passed away on November 2, 2025. She was born on May 11, 1951, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, to the late Ralph and Ann (Herr) Linderman. Carol's bright spirit and compassionate heart touched the lives of many.
A Penn State graduate with a bachelor's degree in secondary education French, Carol made a lasting impact in her community as a librarian within the Cumberland County Library System. She worked at the New Cumberland Public Library in technical services and as a reference librarian. She coordinated the STAR Program for the Cumberland County Library System that delivered books to individuals unable to visit the library. Carol found immense joy in her work, her library coworkers, and the patrons she served.
An avid reader, Carol had a special appreciation for medical thrillers. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching movies, the comedy of The Three Stooges, and the reality shows Survivor and The Amazing Race. Carol was also dedicated to her Maine Coon cats, who brought warmth and affection into her home. Carol spent her life devoted to her family and her passion for literature.
In addition to her love for reading, Carol cherished vacations with her family at the beach, walks around town, shopping expeditions, dining out, and attending plays and musicals at Allenberry and Dutch Apple. Her dedication to her family and family traditions will be profoundly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband, Earl R. Justice; her adoring daughter, Alanna L. Justice; her devoted son, Nathan L. (Jennifer) Justice; and her beloved granddaughter, Hailey Justice. Her family was her greatest joy. She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her sister, Sherry A. Linderman Root.
A viewing will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 10 - 11 AM at Parthemore Funeral Home with services following promptly at 11 AM. Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Carol's love for libraries, please consider a donation to your local public library.
