Carol Ruth Lundebrek 87, died on Thursday evening, March 26, 2026, at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Minnewaska Lutheran Church in Starbuck, on Monday April 6, 2026, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the East Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Carol (Brown) Lundebrek was born in Hancock, Minnesota, on December 8, 1938. She was the fifth child in a family of eight children, having four older brothers. Carol spent her early years on the family farm near Hancock. She went to a nearby country school. It was fortunate she did not have to walk far; some winters the snow was very deep!
Carol met her husband, Arnold, through a friend who introduced them. Carol and Arnold were married in 1962 and lived on a dairy farm. It was located between Benson and Starbuck, near the Midway Store. Carol and Arnold had one son, Brian. Carol always enjoyed children and babysat other people’s children. In addition to her duties as mother and helper on the family farm, Carol did part-time housecleaning jobs. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, coloring, bingo, and gospel music. Carol and Arnold farmed until 1989. When Arnold’s illness made farming no longer possible, they moved to Benson and their son took over the farm. Arnold passed away in 1994.
For the next few years, Carol lived in her house in Benson and retired from her housecleaning jobs of 25 years. When her house became too much to care for, Carol sold the house and moved to Murdock. Later her brothers and sisters suggested she move to Glenwood Estates, as that would be closer to visit. This is where Carol celebrated her 80th birthday with family and friends on December 8, 2018. She spent a short time at Holly Ridge Manor in Starbuck, Minnesota, before living at Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood for a year and a half.
Carol was called from this life on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, Minnesota. She is survived by her son Brian (Jenae) Lundebrek of Benson; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; siblings: Don (Barb) Brown of Grey Eagle, Janice Swenson of Champlin, Lorraine (Marvin) Hanson of Lakeville, and LuVerne (Marlene) Brown of Starbuck. She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, her parents Erscel and Helen Brown, and brothers: Vernard, LeRoy, and Raymond Brown.
